Zinc sulfate monohydrate is a widely used agent in the pharmaceutical industry. It can be applied on the skin in the form of a solution, ointment, or lotion, and recently in the form of non-woven fabrics impregnated with zinc sulfate monohydrate formulations. Topical zinc preparations have been found to accelerate wound healing and relieve chronic skin ulcers.
